Description
A Keuffel & Esser Co. pocket compass housed in a circular, silver-toned metal hunter case. The case is equipped with a hinged protective lid, a push-button release mechanism, and a pendant with a circular bow for chain attachment. The silvered metal dial features black printed cardinal and ordinal directions, with a fleur-de-lis marking North. The outer scale is graduated in degrees across four 90-degree quadrants. The instrument includes a center-mounted blued-steel bar needle with an arrow-shaped North point and a wire wrap balance. The dial is printed with the text KEUFFEL & ESSER CO. NEW YORK in black lettering.
