Description
US Small Size Silver Certificate, Series 1957. The obverse features a central portrait of George Washington. The note includes a blue Treasury seal at the right and blue serial numbers, G 33233789 A, located at the lower left and upper right. It bears the signatures of Ivy Baker Priest, Treasurer of the United States, and Robert B. Anderson, Secretary of the Treasury. The phrase SILVER CERTIFICATE is printed across the upper border. The reverse depicts the two circles of the Great Seal of the United States with the motto IN GOD WE TRUST positioned above the central denomination. This series represents the first issue of United States currency to incorporate the religious motto on the reverse. Plate position letters and numbers include F4 on the obverse and back plate number 142.
