Three Japanese Porcelain Figurines Including Gnomes and a Bisque Character
Description
A trio of Japanese porcelain figurines featuring varied finishes and whimsical subjects. The collection includes two small glazed gnomes in dynamic poses and one larger bisque-finished character in a prone position. The first gnome is depicted in a red jacket and green pants with a blue cap, posed on a brown base. The second gnome is shown in a red jacket and blue pants with a red pointed hat, also on a brown base. Both gnomes feature brightly colored glazes. The larger figure is a stylized character depicted lying face down, wearing light blue overalls with white shirt button details, and finished with a matte bisque texture.
The undersides of the gnome figurines feature red stamped marks reading MADE IN JAPAN in capital letters. The base of the larger bisque figure contains a recessed cavity with a blue and gold foil adhesive label that includes the word JAPAN in printed characters; additional text on this label is present but not legible as a name.
