Description

This lot comprises two US silver half-dollar coins. The first is a 1941 Walking Liberty half dollar composed of 90% silver. The obverse features the Walking Liberty design with the inscriptions LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, and the date 1941. The reverse features a perched eagle design with the inscriptions UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, and HALF DOLLAR. The second coin is a 1968 Kennedy half dollar of silver-clad composition containing 40% silver. The obverse features the profile of John F. Kennedy with the inscriptions LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, and the date 1968. A small impressed D mint mark, indicating the Denver Mint, is located on the obverse above the date (photo 5). The reverse features the Presidential Seal with the inscriptions UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and HALF DOLLAR. Both coins feature reeded edges.
