Mark Manufacturing Company Vintage Manual Pipe Threading Set in Dovetailed Oak Case
Description
A vintage manual pipe threading set manufactured by the Mark Manufacturing Company of Chicago, Illinois. The set is housed in a rectangular oak case featuring dovetailed corner construction and a hinged lid secured by two metal wire hooks. An adhesive paper label is affixed to the underside of the lid, titled DIRECTIONS FOR USE in bold black text above five paragraphs of instructional copy. The label includes the printed text MARK MANUFACTURING COMPANY and CHICAGO, ILLINOIS at the bottom right. The set contains a cast iron die stock with decorative pierced handles, several threaded dies, two lengths of threaded iron pipe handles, and a large double-ended open-end wrench. The dies and components feature various technical specifications, including a hexagonal die stamped CCA 1/2. The die stock features circular recessed areas and decorative scrollwork cast into the handles.
