JULY BOOM
Lot 154:
Description
This is an American stoneware shoulder jug, produced in the late 19th to early 20th century. The vessel is constructed with a wheel-turned cylindrical body featuring a sloped shoulder, a short neck, and a hand-applied strap handle. It is finished with a traditional two-tone glaze: a dark brown Albany-type slip glaze covers the top portion, including the neck, handle, and shoulder, while the main body is finished in a light tan salt glaze with a characteristic orange peel texture. No maker marks, capacity stamps, or inscriptions are visible on the body or the base of the vessel.
Height: 10.5 inches.
