Description
A Hull Pottery two-piece ceramic covered casserole dish in the Hen on Nest form. The lid is modeled as a seated hen with detailed feathering, while the base features a molded basketweave texture. The set is finished in a high-gloss Mirror Brown glaze accented with a cream-colored drip glaze along the rims. The underside of the base is stamped with the following black marks under the glaze: Ovenproof, Bake And Serve, In This Dish, hull USA. This item is an example of the American company’s mid-century oven-to-table bakeware produced in Crooksville, Ohio.
