Description
A two-piece miniature covered dish in the form of a hen on a nest, frequently used as a salt cellar. The set is crafted from translucent pale yellow-green pressed glass, a color often referred to as Vaseline or Topaz glass. The lid is modeled as a nesting hen with molded textures representing feathers on the body and tail, and a prominent comb. The base is an oval dish with a diamond crosshatch pattern on the exterior. An embossed mark is visible on the interior center of the lid, though the specific characters are not clearly legible. Small internal air bubbles, known as seeds, are present within the glass from the manufacturing process.
