Description
This two-piece pressed glass covered dish was produced by A.H. Heisey and Company. The item is rendered in deep cobalt blue glass. The lid is molded in the form of a nesting bird with detailed feather texturing. The base features a raised basket-weave pattern and a scalloped upper rim. An embossed manufacturer mark consisting of a capital letter H within a diamond shape is located in the center of the exterior base. This mark was used by the A.H. Heisey and Company of Newark, Ohio, which operated from 1896 to 1957.
