Description
A Kemple Glass Works pressed glass covered dish in the classic Hen on Nest form. The piece is crafted from deep cobalt blue glass featuring a metallic, iridescent carnival glass finish. The set consists of two parts: a lid depicting a seated hen with molded feather textures and a base in the form of a handled basket. The basket base is decorated with an exterior basket-weave pattern and a flared rim with a repeating geometric border. A single twisted-rope style handle arches over the center of the base. The underside of the lid bears the embossed maker mark of Kemple Glass Works, consisting of an intertwined H and C.
