Description
This US $2 Legal Tender Note, also known as a United States Note, is from the Series 1953 C. The obverse features a portrait of Thomas Jefferson in a central oval, flanked by a red Treasury seal on the right and red serial numbers A 79818058 A at the top right and bottom left. The note bears the signatures of Kathryn O’Hay Granahan, Treasurer of the United States, and C. Douglas Dillon, Secretary of the Treasury. The reverse depicts Jefferson’s estate, Monticello. The note is housed in a clear, semi-rigid plastic sleeve and is accompanied by a printed informational card regarding the history of $2 Legal Tender Notes.
