Description

This lot consists of two US Kennedy half dollars. One specimen is dated 1967 and was struck at the Philadelphia Mint (lacking a mint mark). The second specimen is dated 1968 and bears a D mint mark, indicating production at the Denver Mint. Both coins are composed of 40% silver clad material. The obverse features the left-facing profile of President John F. Kennedy by designer Gilroy Roberts, whose GR initials are present on the neck truncation. The reverse features a heraldic eagle based on the Presidential Seal, designed by Frank Gasparro. Inscriptions include LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, and HALF DOLLAR.
