Description
This jewelry set consists of a ring and a pair of stud earrings, designed in a style characteristic of Zuni Pueblo channel inlay work. Each piece features a stylized cartoon mouse motif in the likeness of Mickey Mouse. The jewelry is constructed from sterling silver and decorated with a multi-stone channel inlay. The face is composed of white mother-of-pearl, the ears and cap are black jet, the bow details are blue turquoise, and a triangular red coral inlay represents the mouth or cheek. The ring has a simple polished band. The earrings are post-style designed for pierced ears. No maker’s marks or hallmarks are visible on the silver components. An attached paper tag identifies the materials as sterling silver, turquoise, mother-of-pearl, coral, and jet, and includes the numeral 5.
