Description
This is a vintage square industrial wall clock manufactured by IBM (International Business Machines Corp.). The clock features a silver-tone metal frame housing a white dial under a curved glass crystal cover. The dial displays black Arabic numerals for the hours and hash marks for the minutes and seconds. The IBM logo is printed in a bold serif font above the center point. At the bottom of the dial, it is marked MADE IN U.S.A. The reverse of the clock is stamped with the numbers 6345 – 203000. A partially deteriorated paper label remains on the reverse, showing a wiring schematic and the address 590 Madison Ave, New York 22, N.Y. Technical specifications on the label indicate a synchronous electric motor designed for a 115V, 60-cycle AC clock circuit. The label also lists Serial FW and Form No. 24-8003-0. This type of clock was used in institutional settings like schools and offices and was often part of a synchronized master clock system.
