Description
This lot consists of a US military M1 pattern ammunition box containing an assortment of vintage workshop and household hardware. The steel ammunition can is finished in olive drab paint with yellow stenciled markings that read 250 CARTRIDGES / CAL .30 LINKED / TRACER M25 / LOT LC L- 12109. The manufacturer code LC indicates the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant. The box is constructed with a hinged lid, a rubber sealing gasket, a tension latch, and a top folding wire handle. Included as found within the box are several miscellaneous items: a carded Great Neck hacksaw blade produced by Great Neck Saw Mfrs. Inc.; a box for National brand residential square corner steel hinges; a cast metal pulley wheel marked DETROIT and U.S. PATENT 2,845,181; a white metal bracket; and several bags containing assorted screws and fasteners.
