Description

This lot consists of a pair of US Benjamin Franklin half dollars minted in Denver, dated 1960 and 1962. Each coin is struck in 90% silver and 10% copper. The obverse features the Franklin design, and the reverse features the Liberty Bell design with a small heraldic eagle to the right. Both specimens clearly display the D mint mark on the reverse, positioned directly above the yoke of the Liberty Bell. These coins correspond to catalog reference KM# 199. The Franklin series was the first US circulating coin to depict a non-presidential historical figure.
