Description
This vintage 1980s-1990s American patchwork quilt features a hand-pieced Dresden Plate pattern. The design consists of thirty individual blocks arranged in a five-by-six grid. Has a few spots, no rips or tears. Great condition. Each plate is constructed from radiating pointed blades of various blue and white floral calico cotton prints, some featuring small pink accents. These blades surround a central white circular medallion that has been hand-quilted. The blocks are separated by a dark blue floral calico sashing that forms a structured grid across the surface. The piece is finished with a sawtooth border, also known as prairie points, made from the matching dark blue calico fabric. The reverse side is a solid white cotton fabric. Detailed images show hand-stitching throughout the construction and decorative quilting, which follows the contours of the plates and includes diagonal cross-hatching in the white ground areas. No maker labels are present
