Description
This 2000 United States Mint American Silver Eagle is a bullion coin struck in one troy ounce of .999 fine silver. The obverse features the Walking Liberty design with inscriptions for LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, and the date 2000. The reverse features the heraldic eagle design with inscriptions for UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, 1 OZ. FINE SILVER – ONE DOLLAR, and E PLURIBUS UNUM. Incised initials JM are visible on the reverse near the eagle’s tail. As a standard bullion issue, no mint mark is present. The coin is housed in a circular clear plastic protective capsule with a black foam insert. First released in 1986, the American Silver Eagle is the official silver bullion coin of the US.
