Description
A two-piece covered dish in the form of a sitting hen on a nest, attributed to the Indiana Glass Company. The piece is constructed from transparent pink pressed glass. The lid is molded in the shape of a sitting hen, featuring detailed fanned tail feathers, a textured body, and a defined comb, beak, and wattle. The oval base features a prominent beaded or ball rim and a side texture designed to mimic a woven straw nest. Visible mold lines are present from the manufacturing process. No maker marks, signatures, or logos were identified on the lid or the base.
