Description
This is a vintage two-piece covered dish manufactured by Westmoreland Glass in the popular Hen on Nest pattern. The item is constructed of opaque white milk glass. The lid is molded in the form of a nesting hen with detailed feathering and a split tail design. The hen’s head features red cold-painted accents on the comb, wattle, and eyes. The rim of the lid is finished with a molded beaded or pearl edge. The base features a vertically ribbed or fluted exterior and a smooth interior. The underside of the base is molded with a central radial sunburst pattern. A molded Westmoreland maker mark is present on the interior center of the lid.
