Description
This large metal basin is constructed from hand-hammered segments. The form is shallow and wide, featuring a circular ring base on the underside. Two ornate handles are secured to the rim, each decorated with a cast repeating foliate scroll pattern. The interior displays a textured, hammered finish with significant tonal variation and surface spotting. The exterior and base exhibit a heavy, dark patina alongside notable green verdigris oxidation. No maker’s marks, signatures, or hallmarks are visible on the object.
Approximately 19 inches in diameter across the rim.
