Description
This lot comprises two wall-mounted decorative objects. The first is a metal wall pocket of bulbous, tapered form, constructed from sheet metal. The front face is embellished with three relief fleur-de-lis motifs. The reverse features a pressed diamond-lattice pattern (photo 4). The piece is surmounted by a scrolled wire frame incorporating a heart design and a fleur-de-lis finial (photo 2). The exterior is finished in a distressed copper tone with simulated green verdigris patination. The interior is finished in a matte dark tone (photo 6). The second item is a decorative corbel shelf of molded composite construction, designed in the Neoclassical taste. The body is ornamented with acanthus leaves and scrolling flourishes. It features a flat top surface and a dark finish accented with gold-toned highlights. The reverse includes two integrated metal eyelet hangers (photo 3). No maker’s marks are visible on either piece.
