A Group of Watkins Heritage Collection Earthenware Bowls and Porcelain Spoons
Description
A group lot consisting of four earthenware bowls and six porcelain spoons. The bowls are of a circular form with high, upright rims and a single integral loop handle. Each bowl is finished in a cream-colored glaze with light brown speckling. The interior base of each bowl features a circular polychrome transfer-printed advertisement. The transfers are labeled within the design as part of the Heritage Collection Watkins Circa 1920. One bowl features a green background for Watkins Menthol Camphor Ointment with a boy seated on a tin; another features a blue background for Garda Nail Polish with the film star Maude George; a third features a green background for Watkins Quality Spices with a woman in an apron; and the fourth features a purple and yellow background for Watkins Quality Big W Tread Cord Tires with a red vintage automobile.
The lot also includes six Chinese-style soup spoons composed of white porcelain. The interior of each spoon bowl is decorated with a transfer-printed pink rose and green leaves. Each spoon is finished with a silver-toned rim.
