Description
A hand-painted bisque porcelain figurine featuring a maternal figure and infant, modeled in a style representative of the Madonna and Child. The figurine is constructed from matte-finish ceramic with soft, hand-painted details. The woman is depicted with auburn hair, a white wimple-style head covering, and a light blue gown with graduated color tones. She holds an infant dressed in a simple white garment. The base of the figurine is hollow and features an incised signature on the underside rim. The cursive script is hand-incised and reads by Mary Ann (photo 5). No other factory marks, geographic origin stamps, or model numbers are present on the piece.
