Description
This is a two-piece pressed glass covered dish manufactured by Westmoreland, featuring the classic hen on nest design. The set consists of an oval base with a basket-weave textured exterior and a scalloped upper rim, paired with a lid in the form of a nesting hen. The body of the hen and the base are crafted from opaque white milk glass with detailed feather molding and a fanned tail. A distinctive feature of this variant is the hen’s head, which is made of translucent red slag glass with darker amberina tones. The exterior center of the base features an embossed rectangular maker’s mark characteristic of Westmoreland production.
Length: Inner rim of the base measures approximately 5.5 inches.
