Description
This stylized cat figurine is an example of Venezuelan art glass produced by ICET (Industria de Cristal de El Tovar). The piece features a solid clear glass body with applied turquoise blue glass accents, including a large bow tied at the neck and a stylized, upward-curving tail. Smaller spots of blue glass are applied to the head to represent the ears and facial features. ICET was founded by Italian glassmakers who brought traditional Murano techniques to Venezuela, as indicated by the brand designation. The piece retains its original gold foil label on the lower body, which is inscribed ARTE MURANO ICET HECHO EN VENEZUELA.
